For Medical Professionals and New Families

The Medical Outreach Alliance of the DSCBA delivers accurate and current information about Down syndrome to medical facilities to provide to expectant and new families. Along with current factual information, we provide information about programs and support that we at the DSCBA offer families. We are currently working with 37 hospitals and birthing centers throughout the Bay Area.

We also have a welcome basket program for new families. We deliver a basket full of fun gifts for baby, such as handmade quilts and hats, as well as further information about Down syndrome that will assist the parents as they begin their journey with their new baby.

We provide training classes for hospital staff and medical professionals with current information about Down syndrome, how to give a diagnosis, and how to best support families receiving a new diagnosis.

If you are interested in scheduling a training class or receiving medical outreach folders, or if you have additional questions, please contact Cathleen Small, Medical Outreach Alliance Coordinator, at Cathleen@dsconnection.org or (925) 362-8660.
